This photo was the first photo taken of Mitzi. She was being cared for by her cousin Rachel at the time. The photo is taken with the entire litter Mitzi was part of. Her family took in a stray dog, whom later gave birth to a litter of 9 puppies. Mitzi was one of these precious 9. Pictured behind her is her brothers and sisters, two others also became permanent family members. She is the puppy pictured far left in the lap of a very happy little girl.

Mitzi was just a tiny puppy in this photo. Her father, having no prior experience potty training a puppy, put newspapers down in the sunroom (her room) to help her learn. When mommy got home from work that day, this is what she found. Shredded papers and a mess to clean. When asked "Did you do that"?, this was Mitzi's only reply. What a pistol, even back then. Mitzi wasn't suppose to get on the furniture, but who could resist this precious face when you came across her sleeping on the sofa. This sofa eventually became hers and hers alone! Age at photo: 4 months |

In this photo, Mitzi is looking out the sunroom window of her apartment, waiting and watching for her daddy to get home. This started a lifelong trend. It wasn't long after this photo was taken that her pets were evicted from their apartment due to her size. They choose to purchase a large house, with a big, fenced yard...plenty of room for Mitzi to play. (This photo is a scanned copy of an old Polaroid. The condition of the photo was very bad and we were glad to get a chance to preserve this moment on the computer) Age at photo: 6 months

Mitzi stopping to pose while waiting at the garage door for daddy to come home. Mitzi has made it a daily ritual to wait at the door for her daddy every single work night. In all her years, she has never missed one day at the door. She is a wonderful and devoted dog. Age at photo: 6 years |

This wonderful charcoal was done by a very talented artist at Walt Disney World from a photo of Mitzi. Charcoal was completed on May 3, 2003. We are very pleased with the results and it is proudly hung in the home where Mitzi resides. |

Mitzi became ill just prior to Thanksgiving 2006. After extensive emergency care, it was determined that she would require immediate surgery on her hind leg. She developed a rapid and aggressive cancer (tumor). After much care and extensive surgery, she is recovering great with little effect. Photo taken: 3 days prior to surgery |

Mitzi recovering post surgery. Her leg required 16 staples, a drainage tube and skin graphing, but as you can see this does not slow her down. She was a great patient through the entire ordeal and never complained once. In fact her surgical team couldn't believe she was almost 15. We are happy to say she is fully recovered now and has full use of her leg. Photo taken: 4 days after surgery |

It is hard to keep a good puppy down...but not impossible. She was required to be immobile for several weeks and be on total bed rest. She enjoyed having her daddy carry her up and down the stairs, as well as being totally pampered. After all this, she deserved it! A Special Thank You to Julie Duval, VDM of Georgia Veterinary Specialists & Ray Webster, DMV of Old Towne Animal Hospital for all they did for Mitzi. She wouldn't be here if it wasn't for these wonderful doctors. Photo taken: 1 week after surgery |

As you can clearly see, Mitzi has and will always be Our Little Girl. We hope you enjoyed seeing photos of Mitzi as she has grown up. There will be new ones added, when time allows. Thank you for being a part of her life changes from puppy to pooch! |
